Alexis Jacobson MSW, LICSW, CT

Bio

Hello! My name is Alexis. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota.

Born and raised on the North Shore, I can appreciate the unique challenges faced by those seeking out support in rural areas, especially during stressful times. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing space where clients feel supported and empowered to explore deeper while working towards inner growth and healing. I believe that a strong therapeutic connection is built upon trust and clear boundaries.

I am most passionate about work related to grief and loss, chronic and terminal illness, and trauma. Entering the field with over ten years of direct work experience in healthcare, end-of-life care, and emergency services, I am passionate about supporting first responders (dispatchers, EMS, fire, law enforcement, rescue), healthcare personnel, last responders (funeral directors, medical examiners, morticians), and their family members.

Whether you are navigating new waters or seeking out maintenance work, I would love to connect with you to see if we may be a good fit as you establish goals and walk this leg of your journey.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy- Trauma Treatment

ART is a technique rooted in existing evidence-based therapies that provides rapid relief from distressful trauma symptoms, anxiety, and other issues. ART is used to treat betrayal trauma, PTSD, and many other forms of trauma.   Clients suffering from other mental health challenges can experience remarkable benefits.  Some of these challenges include:  Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Grief & Loss, Family Issues, and Phobias.

ART works by temporarily reactivating the traumatic memory using relaxing eye movements. When the memory is accessed it can be permanently changed using ART's protocols and techniques.  While the client knows that the changes are not the actual memory, it provides a new start for the client.  The clients Trigger Origin is changed or removed which provides rapid emotional relief.  ART's motto is to keep the knowledge and lose the pain.  Once the session is complete, you will still have the facts of the memory, but you will lose the painful images, emotions, and sensations that were once a part of the memory.
