Hi there! My name is Camryn, and I am a Clinical Counseling Master’s student at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. I’ve worked in the mental health field, primarily with children and adolescents, for the past five years. My work has focused on behavior change methods and skill-building to target challenging behaviors and conduct concerns. My undergraduate degree in Criminology was a catalyst for discovering my passion for bringing mental health care to those impacted by the criminal justice system. I aim to bring awareness to the complex environmental and societal stressors that may affect decision making and mental health symptoms.
I work through a person-centered lens to practice goal setting and self-discovery to help clients lead their lives as empowered members of their community. Our emotions and life’s challenges can be difficult to navigate; I’m here to listen and work with you to explore solutions that best fit you. I aim to create a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel safe and heard, with an expectation of putting the effort in to reach goals, make meaningful changes, and be their authentic selves. It takes courage and strength to seek support, and I am forever in awe of the resilience and growth I see in everyone that I have the joy of working with. We can celebrate each success, both big and small, as we work together to overcome challenges, and discover what leading a happy, healthy life means to you!
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our two cats, listening to any and all kinds of music, reading a good book, and I am an avid coloring book artist.
