Sara Davis MA, LGSW, Therapist

Bio

Hi, I’m Sara Davis (she/her), a Licensed Graduate Social Worker dedicated to providing inclusive, affirming, and client-centered therapy. I received my master’s in clinical social work from the College of St. Scholastica, and my work is grounded in a strengths-based and collaborative approach. I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual, so I work with you to find a pace and style that feels supportive, effective, and aligned with your goals.

I work with adults (18+) across a wide range of experiences, with a focus on managing difficult symptoms, navigating life transitions, identity development, relationships, and increasing independence. Much of my experience comes from working with young adults, college students, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and those living with serious and persistent mental health conditions. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, ADHD, substance use concerns, autism, and other mental health concerns.

I also support clients in building and maintaining healthy relationships, improving communication, and strengthening interpersonal effectiveness skills. My approach is informed by attachment and relational frameworks, helping clients develop insight into their emotional experiences, patterns, and coping strategies while fostering deeper connections. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental, where you can explore your experiences, build insight, and move toward meaningful change.

Clinical Approach

My approach is flexible, integrative, and guided by your unique needs and goals. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities while maintaining a strong client-centered foundation, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), attachment-based approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), solution-focused therapy, polyvagal-informed care, somatic techniques, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor interventions to what is most helpful for you. Whether that means building coping skills, processing past experiences, improving relationships, or increasing self-understanding.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy - Trauma Treatment

I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach designed to provide rapid relief from trauma-related distress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.

ART works by helping clients safely access distressing memories while using guided eye movements and specific protocols to reduce the emotional and physiological impact of those experiences. The goal is not to erase memories, but to change how they are stored in the brain. This allows you to retain the knowledge of what happened while reducing the intensity of painful images, emotions, and body sensations. ART has been shown to be effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief and loss, phobias, and other challenges.
