My name is Sophie Averill, and I hold both a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in social work. I have experience working with adolescents (ages 10+) and adults navigating a wide range of challenges. I recently completed my clinical practicum with a focus on crisis intervention. I offer support to individuals 10+ facing major life transitions, as well as first responders and military personnel who have encountered overwhelming or traumatic events in the line of duty.
I offer trauma-informed therapy and practical tools to help stabilize intense emotions and regain a sense of control. I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a brief, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps individuals quickly reduce symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
I understand the complexity and challenges that can come with prioritizing your mental health. My goal is to help clients feel safe again—in their bodies, in their relationships, and in their lives. I’m here to walk alongside you as you move from surviving to truly living—with support, compassion, and the clinical tools to make lasting change.
My approach is flexible and client-centered, drawing from various therapeutic methods to best support you and your individual needs.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps individuals quickly reduce symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. It uses techniques such as rapid eye movements and imagery re-scripting to help the brain process and resolve distressing memories without requiring the person to talk in detail about the experience. ART is known for being fast-acting, with many clients experiencing significant relief in just one to five sessions. It combines elements of other therapies like EMDR and CBT, and is particularly effective for conditions such as PTSD, phobias, and anxiety.
Approaches include Cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths based approach, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, and ASSYST protocol for processing recent trauma.
